When Nate and I pulled up to The Old Mill, we were convinced that we had the wrong address. This venue was just too good to be true! We arrived before Erin and Mark and spent some time shooting the wildflowers around the property and checking out the ceremony venue.
So much to play with!! If you’ve ever been on the other side of our cameras, you know firsthand that Nate never keeps his photographic emotions to himself. I don’t know that I’ve ever heard him “ooh” and “ooooooooooooh!!!!” so many times in such a short period! :)
I just have to take a second to express my undying love for Erin and her family. It was one of the first times for us that there were so many Root blog readers in a family- I’m not just talking about her and her sisters, either. When Erin’s mom greeted me with a huge hug, smile, and “How’s Huck?!,” I knew Erin’s wedding day would be a favorite. Her family really treated us like family and my only hope now is we get to spend 3 more wedding days with them in the future! :)
Love the photo of Kate putting in her sister’s wedding veil. We actually have Kate to thank for booking this wedding- When Erin was about to book a local photographer, Kate warned, “You’ll always wonder what the Roots could have done…” Erin booked us almost immediately after. I hope we didn’t disappoint! :)

Erin and Mark’s New Hope Engagement Session
It’s Robyn and Jake’s wedding preview day on the blog!! You may remember this gorgeous girl from her Nashville engagement session I blogged a few months ago. I was lucky enough to not only know Robyn from high school, but her two gorgeous sisters, too. Any wedding that brings me home is a special one to me, but this one was extra sweet since it was for an old friend. :)
Nate and I had zero time for bride and groom portraits between Robyn and Jake’s ceremony and reception, so we were so thankful they opted for a first look. We drove them to Oaklawn Garden, a little botanical park with a caboose that’s down the street from my old high school. :)
I’ve been following Maevy’s mom’s blog called March Forth with Maevy for a few years now, so this little flower girl is a bit of a celebrity to me now! This one’s my favorite photo from the day, Maevy getting Aunt Robyn to smell her flowers. :)
Robyn and Jake’s ceremony was held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Germantown.
Then it was off to party at the Ridgeway Country Club for their wedding reception!
Ok ok ok… Just two more of Maevy, first dancing with daddy and then being the first in line for cake. <3
