Nathanial and I just had the pleasure of taking our first trip to Orlando as non-residents. We had such a great time- I was so worried that as we’d be driving home to Nashville, I’d get this sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach telling me we’d made a huge mistake moving, but instead, I experienced the opposite. I so love Orlando, but I know in my heart it’s not where we need to be right now. We had the best trip; spent so much time in the parks and had more date nights than we had all last year! I love Orlando when home is somewhere else. I also love being able to work and live in one place, and leave ‘play’ work (shooting) and vacationing in another. It’s such a freeing feeling!
Our two week trip to Orlando was packed with events : Five portrait sessions and two weddings, to be exact! Granted, both weddings were less than 5 hour work days for us, but it was a crazy busy trip, regardless. :)
I love how all of our sessions tie together in some way…
We kicked things off with Jennifer and Kristopher’s engagement session :
It was so wonderful catching up with Jennifer – We worked in good ol’ Fantasyland together…
… As did Katie and I! Katie and Jason are getting married in Ohio later this year, and we met them around Downtown Disney for some photos.
The day after meeting with Katie and Jason (above), we met with Katie and Jordan (below). If that’s not confusing enough, both Katie and Katie contacted us the same week about shooting their weddings, booked us around the same time, and now their engagement photos lined up together. Not only that, but Katie and Jordan (below) got engaged while in their gym clothes, and Katie and Jason (above) met when Katie took Jason’s boot camp workout class. Luckily, we only slipped up on Jordan’s name once. And by “we,” I mean Nate. Just sayin’. :)
So. Stinking. Cute.
We’re photographing Katie and Jordan’s wedding (above) and getting to work with our favorite videographer, Jeffrey Stoner (below)! We met up with him and his lovely lady Lisa for some in love photos in the alleys of Winter Park…
… Where we also photographed Gloria and Joel’s engagement session! Gloria is the sister-in-law of Marielys, who prettied up the blog last week!
Whew! With that, I’m spent. :) Wedding previews coming next!

We love shooting weddings. Obviously. But we also love when new opportunities arise, especially when they involve past brides and grooms!
We first met Marielys and Anthony when we were associate photographers for Brian Adams and we photographed their wedding. The four of us became fast friends and we are so happy to have kept them as such! :) When Mari let us know she was recording her first cd (a gospel album entirely in Spanish), we were over the moon when she asked us to shoot the photos for her album art! We had a blast photographing around Celebration and downtown Orlando, and loved what we came away with.
When Mari contacted us last to photograph her again for her second album, we jumped at the chance! Nate and I love any chance to catch up with the Canaans, but this time was extra exciting since we hadn’t gotten the chance to meet little Sophia yet. :)
Anthony was amazing and help us block out the sun splotches. :)
Mari had gone location spotting and found this hidden nook in a neighborhood… Love the random ceiling fan on the ground! ;)
I can’t believe you’re a Mommy, Mari!!
Yay! Can’t wait for your third album, Mari! If you’re interested in checking out her stuff, you can find her website here! :)
