I always love the feeling a fresh year brings. I love the clean slate, and the chance to start over and focus on self-improvement. Last year, I made huge changes on the way I live and how I spend my time. Every new year, I start off dreaming big for my resolutions, and then get disappointed in myself when I fall short. This year, I thought I’d keep my resolutions manageable. Whether I stick to all 11 or just 3 of these, my life will be changed for the better. :)
My top 11 resolutions for 2011 :
1. Date nights with Nate once a week.
2. Eat more fruits and veggies & move more!
3. Cut our debt in half!
4. Spend more time with people who build me up, not knock me down.
5. Baby-sit for friends with kids so they can have a night out.
6. Perform random acts of kindness each month.
7. Blog at least four times every week.
8. Go to bed by midnight each night and make and stick to office hours.
9. Spend the year making sure the people I love know I love them.
10. Have our work featured in three magazines and on five blogs.
11. Dream big for the business… Once a month “board meetings” to keep ourselves on track.
Do you have any big resolutions for 2011? And because it’s not a post unless I share a photo, here’s another one of Huck in snow. :)

# 5 is priceless for your friends with kids…
Jensey says
If we ever make it back up to Anchorage, feel free to cash in #5, Caroline! ;)
I would splatter you guys all over my blog but, it would do you no actual good. My blog’s readership consists mainly of my family and few scarf fans…I’ll do it, though! That way you’ll only need FOUR blogs! HAHA!
Everett says that Huck looks like “a Santa dog.” He’s a fan.
Well, I’m Everett’s fan. :)
I definately like #7! this will make lydia VERY happy!!
I’m so sorry I totally dropped the ball on #7! I’ll make up for it, I promise!
One of my resolutions… to give you the support you need to help you accomplish all of yours. Love you :)
Love you. :)
I like that your number one resolution is number one! Since my life changed so much since last year, I have found out that it is absolutely vital to my well being that I have a date night with Bob! We have kids, so once a week is hard for us to have an official date night, but we always make time for each other, and it really makes all the difference in my world!
This leads me to your number 5! What a wonderful and thoughtful idea! As a mom, I can assure you that they will appreciate it so much more than you can imagine!
I think numbers 9 and 10 are so much closer than you know, but i’ll also keep my fingers crossed for you guys success in these areas!
I normally don’t make resolutions, as I don’t like to set myself up for failure, but I think this has inspired me to come up with ideas that I could pull off with little effort..like number one..did I mention I whole heartedly agree with number one? I love number one! yay date night!
just sayin.
Heck, we *don’t* have any kids, and I find #1 hard!
I’m super excited about #5. :)
So glad you’re inspired! I think it’s all about the baby steps. :)
But #1 is what will keep you two together forever! Especially when you do become parents. Never lose sight of #1!!
Great list, Jensey! I like #1, too. Oh, foo — I like them all and could plagiarize a few for myself, including #8. Enjoy!
I think we both could benefit from #8! We’re not doing so well this month, though… How about you? :/
