Danielle + Patrick : Preview

February 10, 2011 by Jensey 15 Comments

Nathan and I were so happy Danielle and Patrick asked us to join them for a few hours on their wedding day, as we finally got to photograph a ceremony at Sunset Point at Disney’s Polynesian Resort! Though there were only seven guests in attendance, there was as much love as if there were 200.

I love this one Nate caught : Their first moment alone as a Mr. and Mrs. :)

I’m truly shocked that of all of the lovely Walt Disney World weddings we’ve photographed, this was the first time we shot a bride and groom on a monorail!

Congrats, you two! More to come shortly. ;)

Portrait Previews

Nathanial and I just had the pleasure of taking our first trip to Orlando as non-residents. We had such a great time- I was so worried that as we’d be driving home to Nashville, I’d get this sinking feeling in the pit of my stomach telling me we’d made a huge mistake moving, but instead, I experienced the opposite. I so love Orlando, but I know in my heart it’s not where we need to be right now. We had the best trip; spent so much time in the parks and had more date nights than we had all last year! I love Orlando when home is somewhere else. I also love being able to work and live in one place, and leave ‘play’ work (shooting) and vacationing in another. It’s such a freeing feeling!

Our two week trip to Orlando was packed with events : Five portrait sessions and two weddings, to be exact! Granted, both weddings were less than 5 hour work days for us, but it was a crazy busy trip, regardless. :)

I love how all of our sessions tie together in some way…

We kicked things off with Jennifer and Kristopher’s engagement session :

It was so wonderful catching up with Jennifer – We worked in good ol’ Fantasyland together…

… As did Katie and I! Katie and Jason are getting married in Ohio later this year, and we met them around Downtown Disney for some photos.

The day after meeting with Katie and Jason (above), we met with Katie and Jordan (below). If that’s not confusing enough, both Katie and Katie contacted us the same week about shooting their weddings, booked us around the same time, and now their engagement photos lined up together. Not only that, but Katie and Jordan (below) got engaged while in their gym clothes, and Katie and Jason (above) met when Katie took Jason’s boot camp workout class. Luckily, we only slipped up on Jordan’s name once. And by “we,” I mean Nate. Just sayin’. :)

So. Stinking. Cute.

We’re photographing Katie and Jordan’s wedding (above) and getting to work with our favorite videographer, Jeffrey Stoner (below)! We met up with him and his lovely lady Lisa for some in love photos in the alleys of Winter Park…

… Where we also photographed Gloria and Joel’s engagement session! Gloria is the sister-in-law of Marielys, who prettied up the blog last week!

Whew! With that, I’m spent. :) Wedding previews coming next!

California : Travel

During our whirlwind LA trip for Victoria and Brian’s wedding, we made sure we had a little time for play. ;)

As much as I love having photos from our travels, when we only have a day or two to ourselves, I often ask Nate to leave the camera in the hotel. I find that in a new-ish place (especially Disneyland!), there’s no way I like “exploring” more than just hand in hand with my love taking it all in, not stopping all the time for photos. I realize this means I should lose my “photographer’s license” for saying that, but it is what it is. :) Anyway, here are a few favorite frames from our park day with a camera. :)

Disneyland’s Fantasmic is my faaaaaaavorite! I could watch it over and over just for this one scene! It really showed what a badass Peter Pan is! Do you see him in the left photo? Loved it. :)

We were so excited to finally see our buddy Patrick’s puppet workshop- the Swazzle headquarters! ‘Twas magical.

Patrick showing us how one of the puppets moves. :)

We got to see them building puppets for their (then) upcoming Halloween show!

Patrick’s nephew, Buddy, stopped by the workshop to visit his dad… I can’t even fathom how cool it would be to grow up with a puppeteer dad!

Love those eyes!
