As we reach the middle of summer, my mind starts drifting to cooler times… Specifically, last Thanksgiving we spent with my favorite family! I’m pretty sure if Huck were to pull a “Homeward Bound,” it’d be to go move in with these guys! I totally would, too. :)
Today is an exciting day for our 2011 couples – We’re running our first annual canvas giveaway via our Root Photography Facebook page!
Nate and I have uploaded an album with one of our favorite photos from each wedding and portrait session we shot last year. If you want to win, it’s easy- Get as many people as you possibly can to “like” Root Photography *and* your photo before voting ends at 11:59pmEST on Wednesday, July 11th. We will have one winner from our weddings and one from our portrait sessions. The winners will be announced on the blog Thursday morning. :)
The couple with the most “likes” on their photo (comments count too!) will win a 20×30″ canvas print from their wedding or session. (They get to choose which one!)

Just as I love Christmas so it’s extra fitting that our wedding anniversary is Christmas Eve, our best friend Jon loves America. I mean, I love America, too, but Jon is 30 and lights up when he talks about presidents. He even has a favorite president. I think it’s my most favorite thing about him. So it’s extra fitting that Lorie and Jon’s anniversary just happens to be the Fourth of July. :)
I can’t believe that two years ago today, our best friends Lorie and Jon were getting married under an Acacia Tree in Tanzania, Africa. This week they’re celebrating their anniversary by attending a friend’s wedding in Spain, and Jon plans on participating in the Running of the Bulls in Pamploma. Real bulls, people. They constantly inspire us to have more adventures!
