{"id":4324,"date":"2010-12-25T09:15:52","date_gmt":"2010-12-25T15:15:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rootweddings.com\/blog\/?p=4324"},"modified":"2011-11-17T16:53:10","modified_gmt":"2011-11-17T22:53:10","slug":"hucks-1st-winter","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rootweddings.com\/blog\/2010\/12\/25\/hucks-1st-winter\/","title":{"rendered":"Huck&#8217;s 1st Winter"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Huckleberry Finn was born and raised a Florida boy, so this cold snap here in Nashville has thrown him for a loop! :) He just loves it, though, and is always scratching to go outside and lay in one of our screened-in patios. :) I normally keep his hair short, but I just can&#8217;t bear to do that to him when we&#8217;re averaging 30\u00ba here!<\/p>\n<p>For those of you who have kindly asked about how our little man is doing, he&#8217;s wonderful. His eye has healed well- He will remain blind in that eye, but we&#8217;re just thankful that we won&#8217;t have to have it removed for the time being. He&#8217;s on steroid drops twice a day to keep his eye ball from shrinking any more; If you look at him for a while, it&#8217;s pretty obvious that his blind eye is about 30% smaller than his healthy eye. You&#8217;d never know Huck&#8217;s half blind until he mis-calculates the height of our couch, or doesn&#8217;t see a wall to his left and bumps into it.
